Part-Time Ceramic Artist Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time Ceramic Artist Assistant. Responsibilities

 

  1. Booth Assistance at Farmers Markets:

   - Set up and dismantle the artist's booth at Saturday farmers markets.

   - Engage with customers, provide information about the artworks, and assist with sales transactions.

   - Help create an inviting and visually appealing booth display.

 

  1. Studio Organization:

   - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the artist's studio.

   - Assist in preparing ceramic pieces for markets.

   - Manage inventory of ceramics and packaging materials.

 

  1. Administrative Support:

   - Handle customer inquiries and follow up on sales leads.

   - Assist in basic bookkeeping related to market and online sales.

 

  1. Artistic Assistance:

   - Aid in the creation and finishing of ceramic pieces.

   - Provide general support during the artistic process, including glazing and firing.

 

  1. Digital Assistance:

   - Assist in documenting and photographing ceramic pieces for online and social media promotion.

   - Help maintain the artist's online presence.

 

Qualifications:

- Previous experience with ceramics or a strong interest in the medium.

- Excellent organizational and customer service skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

- Basic knowledge of sales transactions and inventory management.

- Availability to work 6-hour days, 2 days per week, with flexibility based on market schedules and project timelines.

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs

-Proficiency is Adobe Creative Suite ie. Photoshop, Lightoom, and Premiere is a plus

- Knowledge of how to photograph with a DSLR camera is a plus

 

Compensation:

The compensation for this position is $15 per hour.

 

Schedule:

This is a part-time position, primarily on Saturdays for the Troy Waterfront Farmers Markets from 7:30am-3pm, and 2 flexible 6-8 hour days during the week for studio assistance. (20 hours/week)
